Two killed in road accident

TWO people died in a crash between a car and a motrobike yesterday.

The crash happened on the Old Warrenpoint Road just outside Newry, Co Down, shortly before 1pm. The male biker died at the scene of the accident.

The woman car driver was pulled from the wreckage of her vehicle by people living near the accident scene just moments before it burst into flames.

However, she later died from her injuries after arriving at hospital. Police are appealing for witnesses to the accident to contact them.

So far this year 33 people have died in accidents on Northern Ireland's roads.
