SIR GEOFF HURST admits he thought West Ham were dead in the water while he was off on a holiday cruise two months ago.
The former England World Cup winner went away to Australia with the Hammers cut adrift at the bottom of the Premiership.
But now he has returned from his vacation knowing a point for West Ham against Manchester United today will keep them afloat.
Hurst said: "I have been on the boat for the last two months and we looked like we are dead and buried. I looked at the results with some of the cruise members on board and I thought we were gone.
"And now we have the best chance of getting out of it!
