SEVENTEEN Manchester United players boarded the ill-fated Flight 609 from Belgrade to Manchester on February 6, 1958.
When the plane crashed on take-off after refuelling at Munich airport, seven of them died instantly - Geoff Bent, 25, Roger Byrne, 28, Eddie Colman and Mark Jones, both 24, David Pegg and Tommy Taylor, both 26, and Liam Whelan, 22. Duncan Edwards, 21, died later from his injuries.
