A POLICE chief slipped up when he emailed staff trying to find out who'd left a banana on his station's stairs.
Chief Insp Tony Gowen sent the message to officers at Ilford, Essex, asking them to come forward and collect it. But it was sent on to hundreds of Met officers.
Mr Gowen joined the Met in 1985. One officer said: "Everyone's had a good laugh over this.
