The EUR250 Sekurus

Sunday Mirror,  Apr 6, 2008  by QUENTIN WILLSON

THERE'S so much debt in the States that the seven million borrowers with sub-prime car loans are being forced to have little boxes installed in their cars that immobilise the engine if they don't pay up. The EUR250 Sekurus On Time blinks when a payment is nearly due, then beeps on deadline day.

When the driver makes a payment, the finance company provides a code to restart the car. If they default, the car stays where it is and the repo man cometh. Is this the shape of things to come?
