> MOST climbing ivies will scramble over and cling onto any surface - so they make superb ground cover plants. They are especially useful for creating a lowmaintenance display on shady banks and their vigorous root system will bind the soil together to prevent any soil slippage. They need minimum care (except for cutting back if they spread too far) and, as they come with patterned as well as plain green leaves, you can use them to create a colourful tapestry.
