Girl, 2, is rescued from car
Sunday Mirror, May 11, 2008 by FIONA JAMES
A TERRIFIED toddler was pulled from a car left dangling over a 30ft drop in a smash that killed her mother.
Firefighters had to leave her strapped in with her mum's body as they battled to stabilise the red BMW coupe, which was resting on its side.
An emergency services worker said last night: "The car was hanging over the edge of this drop. The tot, who looked to be about two, was just hanging there in her child seat screaming."
The child was flown from the crash site in Standon, Herts, by air ambulance to the Royal London Hospital where her injuries were not thought not to be life threatening.
Police said the car had smashed into trees. The woman, who is thought to have been separated from the child's father, was not being named until her family had been informed.
