JAMES MASTERS predicted his own axing from the Cork football team weeks before it actually happened.

Speaking at an Adidas promotion last month the 2007 championship top scorer drew sniggers when he admitted he could easily be dropped.

Little did listeners realise that new boss Conor Counihan would follow through by axing Masters and several other big names.

Masters said: "I'm not just saying this but I still wouldn't be 100 per cent sure of my place against Limerick."
