PARENTS are set to spend more than pounds 350million on keeping school kids entertained during the six-week summer holidays.

As Britain's 8.1 million school children break up, researchers for Alliance & Leicester estimate it will cost families around pounds 46 per pupil on visits to theme parks, cinemas and bowling alleys.

A spokeswoman for Alliance & Leicester said: "The summer break puts even more pressure on family budgets, especially when the cost of living, like petrol and utility bills, is going up."
