PAUL PARRY believes he can be the answer to Cardiff City's striker crisis and has told boss Dave Jones: "I'll fire you into the promotion race".
City are still intent on bolstering their forward line options after losing out on Marcus Bent and seeing veteran duo Robbie Fowler and Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink depart.
But Wales international winger Parry, who netted 11 times last term as an emergency striker, says he is the man to fire City into the top six.
"I'm always reading in the papers that the club are looking for new strikers but it's a case of letting him know I'm still about," said Parry, who struck a hat-trick in the recent friendly rout at Carmarthen.
"I'm not a fox in the box but I'll work and chip in with my fair share. I only played up front just before Christmas and if I'd played all season I like to think I'd have got 15-20 goals. That's my aim for the new season and I don't see why I can't do that."
