Stevie Bea is milking his debut

Sunday Mirror, Aug 3, 2008 by MARK McINTOSH

STEVE Beaglehole achieved Milk Cup glory with his new Northern Ireland U20 side on Friday night - just days after his first meeting with the squad.

Beaglehole, assisted by Alfie Wylie following a coaching shake- up ordered by senior boss Nigel Worthington, watched his young guns defeat muchfancied Chile at Coleraine Showgrounds in an exciting end to Europe's top youth tournament.

A superb lob from the halfway line by Sheffield United defender Adam Chapman and a solo effort from Rangers starlet Andrew Little gave Northern Ireland a 2-1 win.

Leicester coach Beaglehole said: "It's been a great week and the lads have done an amazing job. They were a joy to work with.

"Being here is a bonus so early into my time in charge, but to win the tournament is fantastic.

"There is some real quality in this country.

"Now I will be trying to do my best to make sure these players have a chance to make their way into the senior squad."
