SSANGYONG, the Korean 4x4 manufacturer, is to unveil a new compact car concept at the Paris Motor Show on October 2.

The new car, called the C200, pictured left, is a complete departure for the company.

They describe it as a compact, urban SUV and the C200 uses a new six-speed manual transmission and a new 2-litre diesel engine with 175hp.

Although SsangYong admit that this platform can be used with a front-wheel drivetrain, the C200 employs SsangYong's fulltime four- wheel drive system.

The C200 makes use of aluminium in its suspension to reduce weight to ensure more stable car-like handling.
