FREAK storms brought floods to Britain yesterday - with some areas left under 4ft of water.
Hundreds of homes were flooded and scores of drivers stranded when roads became rivers in the West Country.
In Dorset a 22-year-old woman died when her car crashed in heavy rain. An inch of hail fell in HAYLE, Cornwall.
In Somerset a coastguard helicopter helped rescue families after the River Cale burst its banks at Wincanton.
The Environment Agency issued 247 flood warnings with a severe warning for Gloucestershire.
In Berkshire, westbound trains halted at Reading and in London buses replaced the Stansted Airport Express as a tree fell on the line.
