Fears for immigrants

ASYLUM seekers who have been attacked with hammers need extra security, according to a councillor.

Paul Hogan (SF) said the immigrants at Lissywollen, Athlone, live in appalling conditions.

About 100 caravans cater for up to 375 people, mainly young families and single mothers.

Cllr Hogan claimed boundary fences were also repeatedly breached by horses and dogs.
