PAYBACK FOR PIPO

0 Comments | Sunday Mirror, Feb 22, 2009

PIPO DE RE (3.30) can gain compensation for his unlucky fall last time by winning the 2m4f handicap chase at Towcester today.

Trained by Venetia Williams, whose horses are in cracking form, he was tracking the eventual winner and moving ominously well when departing at the fourth-last at Wincanton.

The 6yo is clearly well handicapped and will be hard to beat if putting in a clear round.

At Lingfield it looks significant that Green Lagonda (2.20) makes a quick reappearance after finishing a close-up fifth at Kempton on Thursday. The Stef Liddiard-trained 7yo is well treated on last season's winning form.
