Third G20 protester blasts cops
0 Comments | Sunday Mirror, Apr 19, 2009 | by LORI CAMPBELL
A THIRD G20 protester came forward yesterday claiming to be a victim of police brutality.
The unnamed Londoner claimed he was hit on the head with a metal baton then bundled violently to the ground.
The alleged incident outside the Bank of England on April 1 is being investigated by the Independent Police Complaints Commission.
It comes as the IPCC probes events leading to the death of newspaper seller Ian Tomlinson, 47, on the same day and an alleged assault on protester Nicola Fisher, 35, on April 2.
Scotland Yard said: "We can confirm a third complaint has been referred to the IPCC." The Commission has now received 185 complaints following clashes between police and protesters at London's G20 summit. Around 90 relate to use of force by police.
