Hitachi Sees India as a Major Market for Air Conditioners

Hitachi, the Japanese electronics giant, has announced that it has identified India as a key market for air conditioners. The company aims to capture at least 20% of the package air conditioners market by 2007.

Fumio Ito, Hitachi's department manager (international operation division), stated that India's package air conditioner market is expected to grow to 84,000 sets by 2007 from the existing 28,000.

He added that the AC market is expected to account for 17% of the Asian market in by 2007, according to the Hindustan Times. - (EMEconomy.com)
