India's M&M Auto Sales Up 23.6 Percent

India's biggest tractor and utility vehicles maker Mahindra & Mahindra said that sales from its automobile division in December rose 23.6 from the previous year to 8,549 vehicles.

Utility vehicle sales jumped 23.79 percent to 6,854 units; light commercial vehicle sales were up nearly 13 percent at 489 while sales of three-wheeled vehicles rose 27.5 percent to 1,206. The firm said its utility vehicle sales included 1,537 units of the Scorpio, a sports utility vehicle it launched in mid-2002. - (EMEconomy.com)
