China's electronic and information technology boosts revenues

The scale of China's electronic and information technology ranked third in the world last year.

Total sales revenue of China electronic and information technology in 2003 reached RMB1.88 trillion, up by 34% compred to 2002, generating RMB100 billion in profits.

There are 17,500 Chinese electronic enterprises, with number of employees hits 4.08 million people.

Some Chinese enterprises were placed in front ranks regarding to semiconductor manufacturing and investment in the world. For instance, China Semiconductor Manufacturing International Cooperation was ranked seventh in the Top 10 Semiconductor Manufacturers in the world, before IBM.

Currently, there are 8582 software manufacturers with 18000 software productions in China .
