Czech Mobile Operators Form Mobile Payment Association With Five
World IT Report, Apr 8, 2003
The three main mobile operators and the five most important banks in the Czech Republic have founded the Mobile Payment Association (MPA), according to Europe Media.
The aim of the MPA is to develop and support a unified system for mobile phone payments, thus boosting the development of mobile financial services. The hope is that this will provide the Czech public with access to a simple, safe and universal method for making purchases via mobile phones.
The system will be usable not only in the Czech Republic, but also through roaming abroad. The Mobile Payment Association said it will either develop a new model for making payments by mobile phone or implement a functional foreign model. - (World IT Report.com)
