Malaysia's Composites Technology aims to double sales
World IT Report, Apr 8, 2003
Composites Technology Research Malaysia (CTRM), Malaysia's first aircraft maker, plans to double its sales to 20 aircraft in the financial year ending March 2003. Abdul Malek Packeer, its new chief executive officer, told reporters at a dinner function in Kuala Lumpur last Friday, "We've mapped out an aggressive marketing campaign to achieve this target".
According to The Star Online, Packeer said that a new management team was formed about three months to improve the company's sales, especially on the local front. Malek added that he was confident that the scheme would take off, "We've developed an attractive package that is affordable for some people to own a plane on a time-sharing basis".
The company has three aircraft models for sale. The first model is the Eagle Auto Reconnaissance Vehicle (ARV), generally used for passive military surveillance or aerial intelligence work, costing US$12 million. The second model is the Eagle 150B, which is a two- seater aircraft, and is capable of a four-hour flight without refueling. The third model is the Lancair Columbia 300, a four- seater aircraft, which costs US$330,000. - (WorldITReport.com)
