Huawei wins Jiangsu province contracts from China Unicom

Huawei, the leading local supplier for China Unicom's cellular networks, has received two additional orders for restructuring Unicom's broadband networks in Beijing and Jiangsu province covering 13 cities.

Phase I of China Unicom's broadband construction covers 102 cities within its 28 provincial affiliates. Huawei was chosen to supply equipment for 58 cities scattered over 19 provinces, 16 of them being provincial capital cities, including the economic powerhouses of Beijing, Shanghai and Shenzen.

In addition to broadband internet access, Huawei's broadband system allows service providers to offer customized value added services such as Virtual Private Networks (VPN), Video on Demand (VOD) and prepaid service.
