Singapore's M1 Retains Free MMS

World IT Report, Apr 9, 2003

Singapore-based cellular operator MobileOne (M1) has decided to keep its Multimedia Messaging Service (MMS) free for another six months, the company announced this week.

MMS, which evolved from SMS (Short Messaging Service), allows messages containing video, audio, pictures and animation to be exchanged between compatible mobile handsets.

Although each MMS message will cost S$0.30 (US$0.17) or S$1.20 (US$0.69)--depending on its size--from next January, the service will be incorporated as part of the complimentary SMS package currently offered to M1 users, the firm said in a statement. - (World IT Report.com)
