Singapore Airlines to Introduce SMS Messaging

World IT Report, Apr 9, 2003

Singapore Airlines announced its customers will be able to send SMS messaging to e-mail addresses or mobile telephones anywhere in the world using the in-seat monitor screens beginning in July of this year.

The new messaging service will be compatible with 400 networks through 130 countries and will be available to all classes of passengers.

Singapore Airlines is also studying the feasibility of providing onboard chat rooms hosted on the cabin intranet to enable messaging between passengers on the same flight. -(World IT Report.com)
