China's Software Sector to Attract Large Amounts of Capital in 2002

Yang Tianxing, the president of China Software Industry Association and the head of CCID Consulting Co Ltd, an IT market research company, has announced that "Software was the brightest star of computer-related market last year and this trend will continue this year."
He stated that the fast growth of China's software sector will attract large amounts of capital in 2002.
CCID Consulting has published statistics that reveal that the sales of software rose to 28.5 billion yuan (US$3.44 billion) in 2001, reflecting an increase by over 23% since the year 2000, according to the China Economic Information Network.
Software sales are expected to rise by 25% this year to reach 35.7 billion yuan (US$4.31 billion). -(EMEconomy.com)
