UbiNetics Plans to Expand in India

UbiNetics, the developer of 2G and 3G mobile phone technologies, has announced that it plans to double its number of employees in India by the start of 2003.

UbiNetics has a branch in Bangalore that was opened in October 2001. The branch has over 50 full-time employees. UbiNetics plans to recruit engineers with experience in 3G and GSM technologies. These engineers will develop,test and measure equipment, protocol software offerings, and they will also create intellectual property (IP) in 2G, 2.5G and 3G.

The company plans to expand its skills base in digital signal processing (DSP), in protocol software integration and validation, and in man machine interface (MMI) development, according to 3GNewsroom.com.

UbiNetics was founded in 1999 and specialises in 2G and 3G mobile phone technologies. The company is a developer of 3G testing and measurement equipment and reference designs. UbiNetics is a wholly owned subsidiary of the PA Consulting Group. UbiNetics has over 250 employees at PA's UK Cambridge Technology Centre. UbiNetics' products are used by network operators and terminal and chip-set manufacturers. -(World IT Report.com)
