FalconStor and Beijing Tsinghua University to accelerate development

Storage networking infrastructure software company, FalconStor Software, announced a partnership with Beijing Tsinghua University to accelerate the development of open network storage technology.

Tsinghua University is establishing a multi-purpose network storage laboratory with IPStor as its storage infrastructure, and will leverage FalconStor technology to help boost its teaching and research capabilities and expand the information technology content of its curriculum. FalconStor is donating and assisting to deploy network equipment and software to the Tsinghua Open Network Storage Lab, and will also provide ongoing maintenance.

"Tsinghua will call upon its resources to create a comprehensive academic institution to stand out in storage research, to setup an open service provider well suited to the 21st century, and to convert technique into products." said Mr. Hu Dongcheng, vice president of Tsinghua University.

FalconStor's engineers will assist the lab with installation and operation of its network storage infrastructure. This contribution will help create an open environment for network storage tests at Tsinghua University, promoting Tsinghua's open academic research in network storage and providing network storage assessment and training services. -(World IT Report)
