Indonesia's Telkomsel signs network expansion agreement with Siemens

As part of its GSM network expansion program, Indonesian cellular operator P. T. Telekomunikasi Selular (Telkomsel) has signed a long- term framework agreement with Siemens to expand the capacity and coverage of Telkomsel's GSM/DCS cellular network throughout Indonesia.

Worth over 100 million euro, the contract covers not only the core and the radio network but also intelligent services.

Siemens IC Mobile will supply and install full turnkey digital cellular technology for expanding Telkomsel's mobile network in Indonesia. With 2.5 million customers and a 47 percent market share, Telkomsel is Indonesia's largest mobile operator. -(World IT Report)
