Nokia to Revamp Its Marketing in Thailand
World IT Report, Apr 10, 2003
Nokia, the local Thai leader in the mobile phone market, is adjusting its marketing strategy in line with operators' decisions to unlock their network access codes.
Industry analysts have said that the operator's decision could lead to a rise in grey market handset imports and sales of little- known, low-cost brands. However, managing director of Nokia Mobile Phone Shuan Colligan said the impact on the company of the IMEI code removal was not yet clear.
Finland-based Nokia has a 30 percent share in the Thai market, followed by Motorola and Siemens, with 17 percent and 15 percent shares, respectively. -(World IT report.com)
