World IT Report, Apr 10, 2003

India's Brigade Corporation, provider of business process outsourcing and customer relationship management solutions, has received a commitment for $50 million investment from leading private equity firm, General Atlantic Partners LLC.

The investment coincides with a shift in Brigades' business model to offer broader business process outsourcing services. This new strategy entails acquiring facilities and transforming existing processes through rationalizing operations and moving select pieces to India. The next step for Brigade is to reorganize global assets including refocusing existing Brigade employees to reflect this shift in business strategy.

William Grabe, partner of General Atlantic Partners, said, "Brigade has developed a global service delivery model that enables clients to execute crucial but non-core business processes with a higher level of quality and at a substantially lower cost. Thecompany has a demonstrated track record of success with customers such as Compaq Computer Corporation in maximizing the advantage of a global service delivery system for business process outsourcing. We expect Brigade to play a key role in helping companies maximize the value of their non-core operations for strategic and financial gain." -(World IT Report)
