Next generation Short Messaging Service to be launched in Bahrain

LogicaCMG has announced a contract to provide next generation Short Messaging Service (SMS) infrastructure to MTC-Vodafone Bahrain, Bahrain's newest mobile phone operator. MTC-Vodafone Bahrain will deploy LogicaCMG's Next Generation SMS infrastructure enabling it to offer a high quality of SMS services to its mobile phone customer base.

LogicaCMG won the contract after being selected by MTC-Vodafone Bahrain's network infrastructure provider Siemens Mobile Networks, a global alliance partner of LogicaCMG.

Bhanu Sud, Director and General Manager, LogicaCMG Wireless Networks, Middle East & North Africa, said: "Mobile communications is a rapidly growing market in the Middle East and we are delighted to be working with Siemens to pioneer the latest developments. The flexibility and performance of our solutions, along with their ability to maximise revenues, places MTC-Vodafone in an excellent position to accelerate future service growth."
