angel(TM) broadband fixed wireless access product selected for voice

SR Telecom(TM) Inc. has announced that Ikatel, a subsidiary of France Telecom, has selected the angel(TM) broadband fixed wireless access product for a voice and broadband data project in the capital city of Bamako, Mali. This is the first commercial deployment of the angel platform in Africa. Deliveries and installations are expected to commence in March.

Ikatel will deploy the angel product as integral part of its network in Bamako, a city with a population of more than 1 million people. Ikatel will deliver voice and broadband data services to four distinct customer groups inBamako: residential users, businesses, cyber-cafes and tele-centers.

"This contract win is particularly exciting because we have established a business relationship with a new customer who will become our first proof-point for the angel platform in Africa," said Claude Giguere, SR Telecom's Senior Vice-President, Sales.
