SAN FRANCISCO -- Yusuf Bey IV, leader of Your Black Muslim Bakery in Oakland, remained in San Francisco County jail Saturday night in lieu of $30,000 bond after his arrest on felony assault charges early Friday outside a downtown San Francisco club.
Bey, 20, son of the founder of Oakland's Your Black Muslim Bakery, is scheduled to be arraigned at 9 a.m. Monday in San Francisco County Superior Court on three counts of assault with a deadly weapon. He is charged with attempting to run down security guards in his BMW after Bey and four associates were asked to leave the club.
He was booked on suspicion of attempted murder, but police said the district attorney's office filed the three charges of assault with a deadly weapon after reviewing the case.

Bey also faces a May 12 pretrial hearing in Oakland on charges of felony vandalism, false imprisonment and violating the civil rights of a store employee. The incident in November occurred when a number of men entered two Oakland corner groceries, asking the clerks why they sold liquor. Security cameras in the stores showed men smashing liquor bottles and destroying shelf displays.
Bey had been free on $90,000 bond in that case.
He also faces felony charges in Solano County for purchasing a 2002 Mercedes CL 500 for $55,000 on Nov. 15 from a Vallejo used-car dealer, using a driver's license with someone else's name and filing a false financial report, and grand theft of a vehicle.
Bey also had a misdemeanor charge of resisting arrest pending in Union City from an incident in June. Police who were called to a theater said they found Bey arguing and waving a toothpick in the theater manager's face, court records show. He was arrested after telling a female officer who responded that he wanted a male officer, records show.
Union City police said a $5,000 bench warrant was issued when he failed to appear at a March 30 pretrial Superior Court hearing in Fremont.
He was arrested April 6 in Oakland, driving a BMW without license plates or registration. A records check showed the warrant outstanding in Fremont.
