The California State Automobile Association will offer free child safety seat inspections through Friday as part of National Child Passenger Safety Week.
According to the organization, 80 percent of safety seats are not properly installed. A properly installed child safety seat decreases the risk of death in a crash by 70 percent.
Drivers do not have to be a CSAA member to get the service, but they do have to schedule an appointment.
To make an appointment to have a seat inspected, call (925) 829- 2021, ext. 231, for the Dublin office, 4460 Tassajara Road, Suite B; or (925) 988-1475, then 0, for the Walnut Creek office, 1276 California Blvd.
