WILLIAM LARS ANDREASEN

A lifelong resident of San Mateo County. Born September 7, 1913, he died peacefully on February 5, 2007 at age 93.

Born in San Francisco, Bill was raised on a ranch in the hills near Woodside. Along with his mother and two brothers, he settled in the city of San Mateo in the early 1920's. He was a graduate of San Mateo High School, class of 1930.

Having lost his father at a young age, and being the eldest child, he chose to forego a college scholarship for work. As a teenager and into his 20's he held numerous jobs, including playing several musical instruments in dance bands, driving taxis, racing motorcycles for Harley-Davidson, and working at the Ford plant in Richmond.

Bill joined the then 12 member San Mateo police department in the mid-1930's, progressing to the position of Deputy Chief before his retirement in 1973. Along the way, he worked extensively with youth groups; he formed and ran the Boy's Club and Girl's Club in the basement of the old police station, providing a safe venue for kids to play, watch movies, learn rifle shooting, among other sports, or just hang out.

Bill headed up the Traffic Division and the Juvenile division at SMPD. He served as President of the California Juvenile Officer's Association, writing their by-laws among other activities.

An expert marksman with pistol and rifle, Bill served as instructor to other police departments, as well as to military and civilian groups, winning many trophies and honors for his marksmanship.

Bill loved fly fishing, and spent several weeks each year camping with his family on the Klamath River. He also enjoyed fishing rivers and lakes in Oregon, Idaho, Wyoming, Montana, and Canada.

Bill enjoyed flying, having a private pilot's license, and was also an avid horseman, owning and riding horses with his family and friends virtually his whole life. He was a 30-year member of the Mounted Patrol of San Mateo County.

Bill married his sweetheart, Alice Gray, in 1939. She preceded him in death in 1974. In 1985, he remarried, to Peggy Triplett also now deceased.

He is survived by three sons, Frank, Michael, and Terry, and their families, including several grandchildren, and great- grandchildren.

His loving family will be hosting a memorial celebration of his life at 2 PM on February 17, 2007, the San Mateo Mounted Patrol grounds in Woodside. Their address is 521 Kings Mountain Road, Woodside, CA. All who knew and loved Bill are invited to attend.

IRMA LIDIA BARBIERI

Passed away peacefully on February 10, 2007 with family by her side.

She was born on March 27, 1940 in Ayacucho, Peru and came to the United States when she was 20 years old to make a better life for herself and her family. She found a job working with children and helped to support her family in Peru. Irma was a resident of Redwood City for over 40 years and most recently worked at Synopsys.

She is survived by her loving husband of 37 years, Peter Barbieri; their two sons, Michael and Giovanni; her granddaughter, Katherine; her father, three sisters, nieces and nephews; and many other loved ones and dear friends.

Irma touched the lives of everyone she knew with her extremely kind heart and sweet disposition.

She will be terribly missed, loved always and never forgotten.

Friends and family are invited for the rosary on Thursday, February 15 at 7 p.m. at Redwood Chapel, 847 Woodside Road. The funeral will be on Friday, February 16 at 10:30 a.m. at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, Fulton and James in Redwood City.

In lieu of flowers, a college fund has been Set up for her grandchildren at Washington Mutual Bank, #3141437299.

ALBERT DELL'AMICO

Was born in Colma, California on December 8, 1915 to Rosa and Ettore Dell'Amico. He was preceded in death by his sibling, Theresa Bafico, on November 1, 2005.

Known. to family members as "Babe" and to friends as "Albie" or "Dell", Albert lived 89 of his 91 years in the home his father built In Colma. For many years he raised ducks for Reichardt Farms before the farm moved to Petaluma. He greatly enjoyed the company of friends, gardening and fixing things that didn't work. Albert was appreciative, generous and mindful of the needs of others.

More recently, Albert was under the care of Norma Paed, caretaker and family friend His nephew, Jeff Jr, would spend time visiting with Albert and allowing him to happily reminisce about the friends he had known in Colma Albert would. readily share pictures of his family and great nephew, Hunter, with his visitors.

Albert passed away peacefully, in Paradise, CA, with family. He is survived by his niece, Diane Bafico Clark (Jeff Clark Sr), their son Jeff Clark Jr., daughter Anima-Christi (Chad) Giraldez, and great-nephew Hunter.

Friends may visit after 3:00 PM Thursday and are invited to attend the Vigil Service Thursday at 7:00 PM and the Funeral Friday at 9:30 AM from the chapels of VALENTE MARINI PERATA & CO., 4840 Mission St., San Francisco, thence to Holy Angels Church. where a Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 AM followed by Committal Services at Holy Cross Cemetery Valente Marini Perata & Co.
