A May trial date for San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Antonio Bryant, who is facing charges of reckless driving and resisting arrest stemming from a November encounter with San Mateo police, was set this morning in San Mateo County Superior Court.
Bryant, 25, was pulled over on Highway 101 on Nov. 19 after San Mateo police spotted an orange Lamborghini with no license plate driving at speeds of more than 120 mph, the San Mateo County District Attorney's office reported.
According to prosecutors, Bryant refused field sobriety tests and a chemical test for blood-alcohol content, and also refused to submit to arrest and get into the police car.

Police took Bryant into custody using a wrap-restraining device, the district attorney's office reported.
Bryant was later released on his own recognizance.
According to Deputy District Attorney Sheryl Wolcott, Bryant was not in court today, but appeared through his attorney Josh Bentley. A pretrial date was set for April 18 and a trial date was set for May 14.
If Bryant is found guilty, the misdemeanor charges of reckless driving and resisting arrest carry a possible sentence of up to a year in jail, Deputy District Attorney Sheryl Wolcott said.
