BREAKING NEWS: Small quake hits East Oakland

OAKLAND - A small earthquake jolted the city Sunday night.

No damage was reported.

The quake measured 2.8 on the Richter scale and hit at 8:46 p.m., according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

It was centered in East Oakland, about one half mile from the intersection of MacArthur Boulevard and 35th Avenue.

City fire and police officials said they received no immediate reports of damage. For more information visit www.usgs.gov.
