FREMONT -- The Betsy Gravett Cancer Foundation will hold its 11th annual tennis tournament Saturday and Sunday at The Club at Mission Hills.
The foundation was established to support local cancer patients financially while they struggle in their fight against the disease.
Over 10 years ago, Betsy Gravett, a local resident and tennis pro, was diagnosed with a brain tumor. Gravett realized there are many expenses not covered by traditional medical insurance.
Hence, The Betsy Gravett Cancer Foundation was formed to help Betsy and other cancer patients living in the Tri-Valley area, by providing funds for items such as transportation, child care and medical needs not covered by insurance.
