Crash slows northbound I-680 commute in Walnut Creek By Scott Marshall STAFF WRITER WALNUT CREEK - The northbound commute on Interstate 680 has been snarled by an accident just south of Livorna Road that sent three vehicles 50 to 100 feet down an embankment, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The CHP issued a traffic alert after the 3:52 p.m. accident because officers closed the slow lane, which will remain shut for about 45 minutes.
A total of four vehicles were involved.
None of the injuries appeared to be serious.
