Early morning apartment fire in Oakland displaces residents

OAKLAND (BCN) -- A one-alarm structure fire in Oakland this morning displaced two families, according to the Oakland Fire Department.

The fire was reported at about 3 a.m. and burned a four-unit apartment complex located at 1744 E. 24th St., a fire dispatcher said. The blaze was controlled at about 3:25 a.m.

One person suffered from smoke inhalation, and two families were displaced, the dispatcher said.
