Let the rebuilding begin
He is building a team for Don Nelson, who likely won't be back after next year. With a new coach who is more traditional, he will find that he does not have the necessary pieces, like players who can play defense, a true power forward/center who can rebound and defend the paint, and a true point guard. Then we will be rebuilding all over again.

Why Maggette, Turiaf?
Two questionable signings this week. Maggette is the fourth-best free agent this summer and not worth $10 mil/year, should be the $10 million exception that expired. Ronny Turiaf is a backup forward/ center and not worth $4 mil/year. Why didn't we go after Josh Smith? Trade Harrington for a point guard. Mullin, don't spend money if you don't have to. We can save it for next year to get Carlos Boozer or Chris Bosh in 2010.

Relax, we'll be competitive
Mullin has generally drafted well, and he has learned how to navigate the NBA's salary cap rules after some missteps in the past. I think Monta is going to do well in taking Baron's place. Baron is a good player, but building around him as he declines would have been the wrong thing to do. May never win it all, since the team is not willing to pay the luxury tax, but they'll be competitive over the next few years.

Mullin's doing fine
Chris Mullin has done a great job as a GM, especially when compared to the former GMs. Mullin's mistake early on was being too loyal to players already on the roster such as Dunleavy, Murphy and Foyle, giving them big contracts, making it difficult to improve the roster. But Mullin has a great eye for talent. Almost every player Mullin has drafted has a chance to be an impact player. And Mullin found two diamonds in the rough with Ellis and Biedrins. In about two or three seasons Ellis and Biedrins should be superstars. I think Mullin will keep the future a lot better than it was before he became GM.

In Mully we trust
I have complete faith in Chris Mullin to rebuild the Warriors as serious contenders in the Western Confernece.

Excuses, excuses, excuses
There seems to be a lack of creativity, and a willingness to spend at the right time (now the Dubs seem willing to throw $$ at anybody it seems, since Boom is gone) and it should have already happened. Since 1994, we've been getting excuses from the Dubs management, and or lack of power moves, along with weak drafts. Mully is not all to blame though, he inherited these issues too. Still, he could have helped more.

We'll never win it all
A winner? Meaning going to the Finals? Absolutely not. I'll give him credit for bringing in Nellie and getting rid of Dunleavy and Murphy, but who signed them both to those large contracts? He's made decent moves, but the weak moves outweigh the good ones by far. At least he's better than St. Jean.

Warriors will be just fine
Confidence not needed. I think if we re-sign Ellis and Biedrins, we are on our way. Our frontcourt of the future is super athletic. Just to let the people who don't know anything about the Warriors before people started believing, this is the brightest future we've had in my lifetime. For those who keep giving Baron all the credit for taking us to the playoffs, remember it took Stephen Jackson, Nellie and Harrington coming here before we made it. With B.D., he couldn't get us there before that. Baron isn't even the best point guard in the Pacific Division.

Money getting in the way
I completely believe that Mullin is 101 percent dedicated to building a winning Warriors franchise. Will it happen? If and only if one or more of our homegrown draft picks turns out to be "The Savior." The W's need someone dedicated to the franchise (like Mullin) to come in and stay, not a free agent who could walk away in the middle of building something. Free agents can be helpful, but ultimately they just want the money. I need only refer to Baron Davis to make my point. Here's a guy who had GS and its fans wrapped around his little finger and instead of staying at least one more year at a high salary, he opted out of his contract and broke up the foundation of something big. Free agents screw the W's over time and time again.
Cameron Wilson, Oakland
Who needs Baron?
Rebuild? Because they lost one player who was obviously overrated? If Davis was so great, why didn't they make the playoffs this past season? They have a lot of bright young stars on the team. Davis can go for the money and last place! They already rebuilt by letting him go.
Donald Ott, Stockton
Show us the money
In today's times, championships are bought. And, the Warriors do not spend money.
