Hugo Smith, the son of Hugh and Anamaria Smith and a student at Pine Hollow Middle School, was among four Concord middle school students honored May 10 at Cal State East Bay for high scores during the annual talent search by the Johns Hopkins University Center for Talented Youth (CTY).

The students honored also included John Chapman, Seven Hills School; Jonathan Davies, Tabernacle Baptist School; and Robert Huffaker, Dorris-Eaton School.
