MONDAY, Aug. 18

-- VANDALS SEEN -- A resident on the 700 block of Ramona Avenue reported seeing two people running away from his home after a rock was thrown through his front window at about 10:30 p.m. It was dark and he could not identify the subjects.

TUESDAY, Aug. 19

-- DUI -- At about 2 a.m. officers stopped a red 1999 Volkswagen Jetta near Marin and Santa Fe Avenues for a vehicle code violation and arrested the driver, a 35-year-old Kensington man on suspicion of DUI.

-- VANDALISM -- During the night, someone threw blue paint over a gray Dodge and a black 1993 Jeep and also on the street on the 900 block of Neilson Avenue. There were no witnesses.

-- DODGE STOLEN -- Someone stole a burgundy colored 2005 Dodge Neon parked at the dead end of Buchanan Street during the night.

-- AUTO BREAK-IN -- During the day, someone broke into a white Toyota Corolla parked on the 400 block of Cornell Avenue and stole items from inside. There were no witnesses.

WEDNESDAY, Aug. 20

-- AUTO BREAK-IN -- During the night someone smashed the window of a black Toyota parked on the 400 block of Jackson Street and stole items from inside.

-- VANDALISM -- Someone smashed the window of a silver Toyota Corolla that was parked in a garage on the 400 block of Cornell Avenue during the night. There were no witnesses.

-- STOLEN CAR SWAPPED -- At about 2 p.m. a resident on the 1000 block of Kains Avenue reported that his green 1994 Honda civic that was parked on the street was missing and another vehicle, a blue 1995 Honda Civic, was parked in its place. A check found that the blue Honda had been reported as stolen out of Berkeley. The owner was notified and the vehicle towed. On Aug. 24 Berkeley police reported locating the Albany resident's green Honda. The owner was notified and picked up the car at the scene.

-- HOME BREAK-IN -- Construction workers at a site on the 700 block of Solano Avenue reported seeing three suspects who may have burglarized a home acting suspiciously at about 3:30 p.m. Officers investigated and found several items were missing from the residence and gathered fingerprints and other evidence at the scene. They will continue the investigation.

THURSDAY, Aug. 21

-- DUI -- Shortly after midnight officers responded to the 900 block of Jackson Street on reports of a blue 2008 Toyota Tundra parked on the street for over an hour with the lights on. They arrested the occupant of the vehicle, a 32-year-old Oakland man, on suspicion of DUI.

-- DISORDERLY CONDUCT -- At about 2 a.m., officers investigated a group of youths at Albany High School on the 600 block of Key Route Boulevard. The group fled when the officers arrived but they contacted and arrested an 18-year-old Albany boy on suspicion of disorderly conduct when he was found to be intoxicated. Further search of the area found fresh graffiti at Albany Pool.

-- ARREST -- Officers responded to the 400 block of Kains Avenue at about 8:30 pm. when a resident reported seeing a person acting suspiciously near his black 1984 Ford Mustang and who may have stolen his catalytic converter. About an hour later officers stopped a black 1995 Mitsubishi Eclipse near San Mateo and Central Avenues. They arrested the driver, a 43-year-old Richmond man,on suspicion of grand theft auto, vehicle tampering and driving with a suspended license when he was identified by the Kains Avenue resident. The suspect was also found with illegal knives.

FRIDAY, Aug 22

-- DUI -- Officers arrested a 32-year-old Berkeley man driving a silver 2008 Nissan Pathfinder near Harrison Street and San Pablo Avenue on suspicion of DUI at about 1:30 a.m.

SATURDAY, Aug. 23

-- DUI -- At about 1:30 a.m. officers arrested a 47-year-old Hercules man driving a black 2007 BMW near the Buchanan Street interchange for suspicion of DUI.

-- JUVENILE ARRESTED -- Officers stopped a car black 2000 Buick scraper at about 4 a.m. on the 900 block of San Pablo Avenue for a vehicle code violation. They arrested the driver, a 17-year-old San Pablo boy when he was found to be unlicensed. He was additionally charged when a concealed weapon was found in the car. He was released to his parent with a notice to appear.

-- HONDA RECOVERED -- Officers found a red 1990 Honda on the 900 block of Filmore Street that had been reported as stolen. It was towed and the owner notified.

-- ARMED ROBBERY -- At about 10 p.m. officers responded to the 400 block of Kains Avenue on a report from El Cerrito police of an armed robbery.The suspects were described as two black men in their early 20s. One was wearing a beanie cap, black hooded sweatshirt and black jeans. The other was wearing a beanie, hooded sweatshirt and blue jeans. The robbers took a blue backpack and other personal items and walked south on Kains Avenue. They were gone when officers arrived.

SUNDAY, Aug. 24

-- DUI -- At about 12:30 a.m. officers arrested a 20-year-old Albany woman driving a gray 2006 Honda Civic near San Pablo and Washington Avenues for suspicion of DUI when she was found to be intoxicated.
