DOW FAMILY PHOTO
China Record
MARTINEZ RESIDENTS Paulette and Charlie Dow recently finished assembling the photo album from their 2006 trip to China and found that Paulette had kept up with the community news in the Pleasant Hill/Martinez Record during a rickshaw ride in Beijing -- Charlie quickly let the real driver take over. Watching the Olympics, the pair recalled how the city looked when they visited -- not as many flowers, only the exterior of the Birds Nest built and none of the other buildings constructed. During more than 30 days in the country, which ended by joining a group on a river cruise, their favorite spot was the Temple of Heaven and its surrounding park in Beijing.
Going out of town on business or vacation, for a week or just a day? Whether heading for Redding, Rhode Island or Rome, remember to pack the Record to keep up with news of the community, and then show your neighbors where you have been, whether down the coast or across the country. Send your photo (no cell phone images) and information to Record on the Road, c/o the Pleasant Hill/Martinez Record, 2640 Shadelands Drive, Walnut Creek, CA 94598, or e-mail in .jpg format to record@bayareanewsgroup.com.
