ALUMNI GAMES
-- Fremont: The Fremont High boys basketball team is having its annual alumni basketball games on Nov. 8 at Fremont High in Oakland at 3:30 p.m at 5 p.m. Contact Frank Knight at 324-5772 with any questions or to participate.
-- Castlemont: The Castlemont High girls basketball team is having its second annual alumni game Nov. 14 at 6 p.m. Alumni expected to attend are Kiesha Phelps, Floressa Wilson, Anna Magganas, Lizzie Clemons, Rashida Smith, Ashalic Johnson, Dannielle Clark, Teresa Goodwin, Tashe Daniels and many more looking to repeat the alumni's 57-56 victory in front of a packed house last year.

-- St. Elizabeth: Opening for assistant boys basketball, assistant baseball and assistant girls soccer coaches. Interested candidates should contact athletic director Bob Howard at (510) 532- 8947 ext. 105 or adbob@aol.com.
-- College Prep: Opening for assistant boys and girls basketball coaches. Applicants must have experience in coaching at the high school or college level, positive and professional attitudes, and have flexible afternoon and evening schedules.

BASKETBALL
-- Attles School of Basketball: ASB is offering classes for kids ages 10-14 on Fridays from 6-8 p.m. Classes are $30 per student with multiple session discounts available. Classes are limited on a first come/first served basis to the first 30 students. To enroll call (510) 273-9095.
-- Excellence in Basketball: For 6th-12th grade boys looking to take their game to the next level. Multi-sport athlete are welcome. Better players may play up a level and scholarships are available for hardship cases. Sign-ups are under way for spring, summer and fall seasons. Call (925) 736-8741.

-- OAL seeks sponsorships: The Oakland Athletic League is seeking sponsorships to help cover athletic costs. The league has an immediate need for scoreboards and is also looking for sponsors for fields, uniforms and championship events. -- Ultimate Frisbee: Alameda Community Learning Center's 'Meat' teams are looking for middle and high school students interested in playing Ultimate Frisbee. No previous experience is required. -- Piedmont Sports Hall of Fame: Is currently soliciting nominations for the Class of 2009 inductees. Athlete nominees are selection upon following criteria: graduate of Piedmont and attended for at least two years, graduated at least five years ago, excelled in athletics and demonstrated integrity, character, citizenship, success, leadership and community involvement during high school career and beyond. Coach and administrator nominees should adhere to the same characteristics and should no longer be a coach or administrator at Piedmont. Booster and community members must have resided in Piedmont for a significant number of years and demonstrated support for the athletic program. Nominations can be sent to PSHOF, 209 Palm Dr., Piedmont 94610, attention Chris Lavdiotis and will be accepted through January 2009. Nominations should list athletic, scholastic and community achievements of the nominee and must be signed by nominating individual.
