Tree-lighting ceremony -- 5:30 p.m. The Union City Chamber of Commerce and Washington Hospital will hold a Trees of Angels ceremony and chamber mixer. The tree-lighting event is free. Christmas tree lighting -- 5:30 p.m. Warm Springs Business and Community Association's annual tree lighting event, co-chaired by Warm Springs Rotary Club. Event takes place in the Warm Springs Shopping Plaza, corner of Mission and Warm Springs boulevards, features pictures with Santa, raffles, food booths, performance groups, dancing, demonstrations, Toys for Tots, and more. Pancake breakfast fundraiser -- 8:30 a.m. to noon. All-you-can- eat pancakes, sausage and eggs breakfast at the Fremont Elk's Club, 38991 Farwell Drive, Fremont, sponsored by the Rotaries of Area 3 (Fremont, Union City and Newark) Performances by StarStruck Theatre every hour, at 9:15, 10:15 and 11:15 a.m. Adults $10, $8 for seniors and children 11 and younger. Proceeds benefit StarStruck Theatre's upcoming production of "The Wizard of Oz."

Visit with Santa -- 9 a.m. Meet Santa at the Ruggieri Senior Center, 33997 Alvarado-Niles Road, Union City. For children 12 and younger with accompanying adults. A maximum of two adults may accompany each child. The 9 a.m. session will include breakfast and costs $20 for Union City residents and $25 for nonresidents.
