Dan Maxwell

-- SCHOOL: St. Mary's

-- SPORT: Cross country

-- YEAR: Senior

-- THE STAT LINE: Maxwell won the individual title at the BSAL championships at the three-mile Joaquin Miller Park course in Oakland in a time of 18 minutes, 34 seconds, helping the Panthers to the team title.

George Naufahu

-- SCHOOL: San Mateo

-- SPORT: Football

-- YEAR: Junior

-- POSITION: Fullback/linebacker

-- THE STAT LINE: Naufahu carried 19 times for 227 yards to help San Mateo to a 34-32 win over South San Francisco. He rushed for two touchdowns and scored another on a fumble return.

Brett Nottingham

-- SCHOOL: Monte Vista

-- SPORT: Football

-- YEAR: Senior

-- POSITION: Quarterback

-- THE STAT LINE: In Monte Vista's 45-24 win over California, Nottingham completed 18 of 30 passes for 310 yards and four touchdowns. He saved his best for the second half, throwing for 218 yards and three TDs as the Mustangs outscored the Grizzlies 28-7 after the break.

Toni Pole

-- SCHOOL: James Logan

-- SPORT: Football

-- YEAR: Senior

-- POSITION: Tight end/defensive end

-- THE STAT LINE: The 6-foot-2, 275-pound Pole caught two passes, both for touchdowns, in the Colts' 28-10 victory over Washington. His 78-yard TD catch in the fourth quarter sealed the victory, and he had a 19-yard scoring reception in the first quarter. Pole also had a sack and a forced fumble.

Marquis Waters

-- SCHOOL: Las Lomas

-- SPORT: Football

-- YEAR: Junior

-- POSITION: Running back

-- THE STAT LINE: Waters shook off the flu that he had during the week to rush for 173 yards and three touchdowns in a 38-18 win over Dublin. Waters also threw his first high school touchdown pass, a 42- yard strike to Jacob Mayer.

Brandon Williams

-- SCHOOL: Deer Valley

-- SPORT: Football

-- YEAR: Senior

-- POSITION: Running back/defensive back

-- THE STAT LINE: Williams was a one-man wrecking crew as the Wolverines beat crosstown rival Antioch 42-14. He rushed 19 times for 163 yards and three touchdowns. He also caught two passes for 77 yards and another score.
