Mary Bleam
JUNCTION CITY--- Mary Kathryn Bleam, 74, Junction City, died Monday, Dec. 6, 1999, at a Junction City hospital.
Mrs. Bleam worked for the Kansas Department of Social and Rehabilitation Services for 30 years and was administrative secretary for the area director from 1976 until she retired in 1990.
She was born Jan. 10, 1925, in Atchison, the daughter of Edwin James and Letty Margaret Martin Bosshammer. She graduated from Atchison High School and completed nurses training in the Cadet Corps. She had lived in Leavenworth and Jetmore before she moved to Junction City in 1974.
Mrs. Bleam was a member and a deacon of First Presbyterian Church in Junction City. She also was a member of the Pilot Club of Junction City and a Pink Lady volunteer for the Geary Community Hospital.
She married Wilbert F. Bleam on Feb. 22, 1948, in Leavenworth. He survives.
Other survivors include a son, Dr. William F. Bleam, Madison, Wis.; two daughters, Mary Margaret Millard, Kingman, and Kathryn Luise Bleam, Manhattan; a sister, Bernice Thomas, Atchison; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at First Presbyterian Church in Junction City. Inurnment will be at a later date at Fort Scott National Cemetery at Fort Scott.
Memorial contributions may be made to the First Presbyterian Church Endowment Fund, 113 W. 5th St., Junction City, 66441.
Mass-Hinitt Funeral Chapel in Junction City is in charge of arrangements.

John Denton
DENTON --- John E. "Ed" Denton, 90, Denton, died Tuesday, Dec. 7, 1999, at a Highland nursing home.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at the Denton United Methodist Church. Burial will be in Denton Cemetery. Relatives and friends will meet from 9:30 a.m. to service time Friday at the church.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Denton Cemetery or to the Denton United Methodist Church, or to Hospice, and sent on care of Becker-Dyer-Stanton Funeral Home in Atchison.
Frederick Elevier
SILVER LAKE --- Frederick Elevier, 55, Silver Lake, died Sunday, Dec. 5, 1999, at a Topeka hospital following an apparent heart attack.
Mr. Elevier worked for the Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railway for 36 years, and he had most recently worked for Lowes Home Improvement Store in Topeka. He served in the Marine Corps Reserves from 1964 to 1969.
He was born March 12, 1944, in Kansas City, Mo., the son of Gerald H. and Phyllis Smith Elevier. He graduated from Rossville High School in 1962, and he attended Fort Hays State College.
Mr. Elevier was a member of St. Stanislaus Catholic Church in Rossville and Holy Name Catholic Church in Topeka. He also was a member of Knights of Columbus Council No. 534 in Topeka. He had been a 4-H leader in Silver Lake, and he served on the Shawnee County Fair Board. He also was active in the Meals on Wheel program in Topeka, and he coached youth baseball and basketball in Silver Lake and at the YMCA in Topeka.
He married Diane L. Cowan on May 27, 1967, in St. Marys. She survives.
Other survivors include a son, Aaron Elevier, Overland Park; his mother, Phyllis Marney, Rossville; five sisters, Barbara Brake, Eldon, Mo., Nancy Jons, Overland Park, Cathy Lauderdale, Kansas City, Kan., Vickie Smith, Kansas City, Mo., and Carla Burney, Mayview, Mo.; and seven brothers, Larry Elevier, Kenny Elevier, Jimmy Elevier and Steven Elevier, all of Kansas City, Kan., John Elevier, Ozawkie, Jerry Elevier, Lawrence, and Danny Elevier, Kansas City, Mo.
Services will be private. Burial will be in Mount Calvary Cemetery in St. Marys.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association and sent in care of Piper-Verschelden Funeral Home in St. Marys.
Frank Hermesch
MARYSVILE --- Frank J. Hermesch, 84, Marysville, died Wednesday, Dec. 8, 1999, at a Centralia nursing home.
Mr. Hermesch farmed north of Marysville until 1977.
He was born June 27, 1915, in Kelly, the son of Fred and Mary Wessel Hermesch. He moved to Marysville in 1953.
Mr. Hermesch was a member of St. Gregory's Catholic Church, and the Knights of Columbus.
He married Valeria Veot on May 1, 1940, in Marysville. She survives.
Other survivors include a son, Lynn Hermesch, Home; two daughters, Kay Mahtbie, Wichita, and June Bicknell, Salina; five brothers, Ben Hermesch and Fred Hermesch, both of Seneca, Ray Hermesch, Goff, Lambert Hermesch, Meriden, and Ed Hermesch, Centralia; four sisters, Agnes Rempe, Centralia, Mary Brucken, Holton, Theresa Winkler, Corning, and Sister Amanda Hermesch, Colorado Springs, Colo.; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Mr. Hermesch was preceded in death by a daughter, Marilyn Hasenkamp, in 1972, and two infant sons, Richard Hermesch and Mark Hermesch, and a grandson, John Hasenkamp.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Gregory Catholic Church in Marysville. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Mr. Hermesch will lie in state from 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Friday at Kinsley Mortuary in Marysville.
