Kathleen Blair

JUNCTION CITY --- Kathleen Marie Blair, 41, Junction City, died Saturday, March 4, 2000, at a Junction City hospital.

Mrs. Blair retired from the Army at the rank of sergeant first class in July 1996.

She was born March 18, 1958, in Bristol, Pa., the daughter of Edward and Margaret Smith Brylewski. She graduated from Delhass High School in 1976. She earned an associate's degree from Central Texas and a bachelor's degree in human services from Upper Iowa University. She moved to Junction City in 1990.

Mrs. Blair was a member of St. Xavier Catholic Church and the St. Xavier School Council. She also was a volunteer for CASA.

She married Robert Blair on Sept. 3, 1986, at Pemberton, N.J. He survives.

Other survivors include her mother, Margaret DeLissio, Bristol; two sons, David Bacorn, Anacoco, lowa, and Christopher Robert Blair, Junction City; two daughters, Margaret "Peggy" Bacorn and Valerie Lucas, both of Junction City; three brothers, Michael Brylewski, Philadelphia, Dennis Brylewski, Trevous, Pa., and Edward Brylewski, Bristol; and two sisters, Debra Barnes, Philadelphia, and Mary Jo Dunlap, Croydon, Pa.

Services will be at 10 a.m. today at St. Xavier Catholic Church in Junction City. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to an education fund for Christopher Robert Blair and sent in care of St. Xavier Catholic Church, 218 N. Washington, Junction City, 66441.

Marian Boose

LECOMPTON --- Marian B. "Snowflower" Boose, 77, Lecompton, died Monday, March 6, 2000, at a Topeka nursing home.

She was born Dec. 21, 1922, in Rockwell, Iowa, the daughter of Arthur V. and Carrie Belle Patterson Mosher. She attended school at Fort Dodge, Iowa, and she moved to Lecompton in 1951.

She married James G. "Jim FireEagle" Boose on Feb. 24, 1944, in Moody, Mo. He preceded her in death Sept. 21, 1999.

Survivors include five sons, Donald R. Boose Sr., Edward L. Boose, David W. Boose, Michael A. Boose, and James A. Boose, all of Lecompton; two daughters, Susan Boose and Barbara Russell, both of Lecompton; a sister, Barbara Woody, West Plains, Mo.; nine grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Parker-Price Mortuary Chapel in Topeka. Burial will be in East View Cemetery. Mrs. Boose will lie in state after 2 p.m. Thursday at the mortuary, where relatives and friends will meet from 7 to 8 p.m.

Contributions may be made to the Marian Boose Memorial Fund and sent in care of the Bank of Perry, P.O. Box 7, Perry, 66073.

Stephen Grosscup

MARYSVILLE --- Stephen J. Grosscup, 75, Marysville, died Tuesday, March 7, 2000, at a Marysville hospital.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at the United Methodist Church in Marysville. Burial will be in Deer Creek Cemetery north of Marysville. Mr. Grosscup will lie in state from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday at Kinsley Mortuary in Marysville.

Portia Hendrix

OTTAWA --- Portia L. Hendrix, 59, Ottawa, died Monday, March 6, 2000, at a Merriam hospital.

She was born Sept. 3, 1940, in Kansas City, Mo., the daughter of Fred N. and Alpha Tollefson Roberts. She was raised in Kansas City, Mo., and graduated from Southwest High School in Kansas City.

Mrs. Hendrix was a member of the Missouri Synod of the Lutheran Church, and she attended Faith Lutheran Church in Ottawa.

She married Harry Hendrix on Nov. 19, 1961, in Kansas City, Mo. He survives.

Other survivors include a daughter, Christina Hendrix, Ottawa; and a brother, Al Roberts, Las Vegas.

Mrs. Hendrix was preceded in death by a daughter, Jill Renee Hendrix, Feb. 2, 1965.

Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Highland Cemetery in Ottawa. Mrs. Hendrix will lie in state after 9 a.m. Thursday at Lamb-Roberts-Heise Funeral Home in Ottawa, where relatives and friends will meet at 10:30 a.m. Friday and go in procession to the cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Diabetes Association and sent in care of the funeral home.

Oleta Holladay

LAWRENCE --- Oleta Beth Holladay, 73, Lawrence, died Monday, March 6, 2000, at her home.

Mrs. Holladay owned and operated Oleta's Beauty Salon in Lawrence for 32 years before she retired in 1991.

She was born Dec. 10, 1926, in Glen Elder, the daughter of Charles and Erma Hosler Fox. She graduated from Oskaloosa High School in 1945.

Mrs. Holladay was a member of First United Methodist Church in Lawrence.

She married John E. Holladay on March 16, 1946, in Lawrence. He survives.

Other survivors include a son, Tony Holladay, Lawrence; a daughter, Gay Ann Quinn, Lawrence; a brother, Holland Fox, Topeka; and a sister, Norma Runn, Lawrence.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Rumsey-Yost Funeral Home in Lawrence. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Mrs. Holladay will lie in state from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to Health Care Access or to Cottonwood Inc. and sent in care of the funeral home.

Carl Holt

OLSBURG --- Carl Alvin Holt, 77, Olsburg, died Monday, March 6, 2000, at a Manhattan hospital.

Mr. Holt was a farmer. He served in the Merchant Marines during World War II.
