Outlook --- Vengeance is a theme for the Vikes, who lost several games last season by one or two goals. "We have some great leaders and real competitive spirit," said Lee, who takes over as Seaman's girls coach and also coaches the boys.

Outlook --- Smith, of Suffolk, England, was helping with a series of soccer clinics in the Topeka area last summer when he heard that Heights was seeking a new coach. He inquired about the job and was hired.

Outlook --- The Trojans made their fourth straight regional championship appearance last season en route to a 4-6-1 mark. Five starters are back. "With the leadership of captaiins Sarah Edwards and Amanda Stamm, the Trojans look to be a solid team," Waldron said. An experienced defense, anchored by Cook and Courtney Self, provides a solid foundation, and Waldron believes the midfield will be improved. "Topeka High looks to be a more technically refined team than it has been in the past," he said.

Outlook --- With nine returning starters and 15 letterwinners back in the fold, the Chargers have the depth to repeat as regional champs after their 12-4 season in '99. Eight players received all-league honors, with three (Lowry, Hearrell and Moormann) earning all-state recognition. "The season looks bright for the Chargers," Collins said.
